Check the certificate date early
Do not wait until the final weeks to look at the expiry date. Waiting times and your readiness can affect whether a practical-test date is realistic.

If it has expired
Prepare for and book a new theory test through GOV.UK. A previous practical-test booking does not extend the certificate automatically.
