August 2026 appointment availability and actual waits
The latest report separates how long learners actually waited from DVSA's current appointment-availability measure and adds the new share of completed tests taken within seven weeks of booking.
Only 56 of 317 centres recorded at least half of completed tests taking place within seven weeks of booking. The centre-level median was 38.1%; 69 centres recorded fewer than one in four within seven weeks.

Methodology in brief
- Waiting-time, within-seven-week and appointment-availability figures come from DVSA table DRT122F.
- Pass rates and test volumes come from the latest published DVSA centre-level pass-rate table.
- How long learners actually waited is the median booking-to-test time for people who completed a test during the month.
- The within-seven-week percentage is the share of completed tests taken within seven weeks of the original booking date, including rescheduled appointments.
- Current appointment availability measures how far ahead DVSA looked before at least 10% of weekly appointments remained. It is not a live appointment search.
- National figures shown here are unweighted summaries of valid centre-level values. Missing values are excluded rather than treated as zero. DRT122F does not publish a monthly completed-test count alongside the within-seven-week percentage, so the centre percentages are not weighted into a national learner rate.
